Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer (RTO)

a cost effective way to remove pollutants

What is a regenerative thermal oxidizer, or RTO for short? It is a super-efficient thermal oxidizer that uses ceramic media to achieve high heat recovery, and consequently, lower energy consumption and operating cost. Due to the lower operating cost and high destruction efficiency, the RTO is one of the most popular air abatement technologies available.

How does an RTO work? The contaminant laden process stream is pushed or pulled into the RTO and enters an energy recovery chamber filled with ceramic media, where it is preheated before entering the combustion chamber. After the VOCs, HAPs or odors are oxidized in the combustion chamber, the hot purified air is directed into another energy recovery chamber. At specified time intervals, the inlet and outlet valves switch position and now the contaminated process air is redirected through the hot heat recovery chamber to preheat and start the cycle over again.

While most people think of the RTO for manufacturing, chemical or industrial air correction, we also use them in smaller configurations on environmental remediation sites. Whether you are looking to destroy volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) or odorous emissions in processes large or small, the RTO is a stellar choice.

Intellishare's regenerative thermal oxidizer units are feature packed. Programmable logic control? Yep. Remote telemetry/HMI? Yep. Blower packages, vapor control valves and low NOx burners? We’ve got you covered. Each feature is fully integrated and supported by Intellishare- meaning single source point responsibility for us, and single phone call support for you.

Available in 2 chamber or multi-chamber configurations.
